Silent Space

I say the way you glow

is pure as idleness

dogs bark and yet you glide

cars honk and you appreciate

breathe out into a silent space

breathe out into a silent space

Here where our two hands

uninterruptible

co-mingle as we fly

down South I-55

breathe out into a silent space

I watch your eyes

they scan the road

one hand - the wheel

the other free to twist and hold

I say the way you smile

is innocent as a baby

you say do not assume

from how things appear to be

breathe out into a silent space

I watch your eyes

they scan the lane

one hand the wheel

the other free to reach and hold

me

But there are no turns yet

there are no shocking curves

when we must drag

our hands away

That will come

I say the way you glow

is pure as idleness

dogs bark and yet you glide

cars honk and you appreciate

breathe out into a silent space

breathe out into a silent space

breathe out into a silent space
