From the recording Flying Solo

Lyrics

What you see in your heart
And what you see out the window
are totally different
and you want to know why.

You live on a street
where most of the cars
are noisy and dirty
and you don't have a gun
somehow you really really want
to shoot the tires off one.

And you can't fall asleep
and you can't stay awake
got to find
something outside that will match
what you see in your mind.
So you turn on your side
so you can see out the window.
A police siren cries
and a small dog is barking.

What you read in the paper
what you see on the TV
what you see in your heart
and what you see out the window
are totally different
and you want to know why

You live in a street
in a corner building
with a poster for chemical milk
and you never will have media access.

And you can't fall asleep
and you can't stay awake
got to find
something outside that will match
what you see in your mind.
So you turn on the light
and step into the kitchen.
You put on some toast
but it soon catches fire.
